Our Story

Why El-Roi HopeBridge Exists

El-Roi HopeBridge was born in December 2025 — not from a conference room or a grant proposal, but from the inside of a real experience. Our founder grew up with a clear vision for his life but without the support needed to bring that vision to life.

He knows what it feels like to have a dream and feel alone in it. And he decided that other children should not have to go through the same thing.

The name El-Roi comes from Genesis 16 — the story of Hagar, a woman displaced and overlooked, who encountered God in the wilderness and named Him El-Roi: The God Who Sees. She was astonished — not because a miracle happened, but because she was seen.

That is what we exist to do. Not to fix everything. But to make sure no young person has to feel that no one is coming. Because someone is coming.

What We Do

Our Five Focus Areas

Everything we do flows from a simple conviction: every child deserves to be seen, heard and given a real chance.

Post-Secondary Career Clarity

After secondary school, every teenager should know what they want to do with their life — with or without parental guidance. We provide the tools, conversations, and direction to make that possible.

How we tackle it

  • Open honest career conversations so every teenager understands their strengths, options and next steps.
  • Match young people with mentors through the Request a Mentor form, with or without parental guidance.
  • Build employability skills for those who want to be employed.

Mental Health in Schools

Children must be mentally fit to actually be in school. We advocate for safe spaces in schools where students can speak about pressure, neglect, trauma — and find support before it's too late.

How we tackle it

  • Create safe spaces in schools where students can speak openly about pressure, neglect and trauma.
  • Share honest, practical guidance through our articles and community.
  • Point young people toward qualified professional help when they need it.

Vulnerable Children in Education

Every child who deserves to be in school should be in school. We work to bring children back to education — partnering with organisations to ensure no child is left out hawking or doing nothing meaningful.

How we tackle it

  • Partner with organisations to bring children back to school instead of hawking or sitting idle.
  • Speak up for children whose circumstances have pushed them out of the classroom.
  • Support families so that children who belong in school stay in school.

Parenting Advocacy

We organise seminars to enlighten parents and guardians — helping them understand that a child's wellbeing goes beyond exam results. Asking: "What do you want? How can life become better for you?"

How we tackle it

  • Organise seminars where parents and guardians learn that listening matters as much as exam results.
  • Encourage questions like "What do you want?" and "How can life become better for you?"
  • Use articles and community conversations to keep the message in front of families.

Unlocking Potential

Creating safe spaces where children can step out of fear, open up, and discover the best in themselves — through practical skills, business capital, and employability programmes.

How we tackle it

  • Provide safe spaces where children can step out of fear and discover the best in themselves.
  • Work with government and private organisations on practical hand skills.
  • Pursue business capital and sponsorship for young people who want to start a business.

What We Stand For

Our Core Values

Visibility

Every child deserves to be seen — not overlooked by the pressures of family, culture, or poverty.

Faith

We are rooted in the belief that God sees every child — and we act as an extension of that care.

Community

No child should navigate life alone. We build communities of support around every young person.

Growth

We believe every child carries potential that, when nurtured, can change families and communities.

Purpose

We exist to turn pain into purpose — to transform personal struggle into a bridge for others.

Meet the Founder

Adekunle Temitope

Founder & Director, El-Roi HopeBridge NGO

El-Roi HopeBridge was born out of my own story. Growing up, my choices and opinions were often looked down on. I had a clear vision for my life but did not have the support I needed to bring that vision to life. I know what it feels like to have a dream and feel alone in it.

In December 2025, I decided to turn that pain into purpose. I told myself: other children should not have to go through this. That was how El-Roi HopeBridge started. El-Roi means "The God Who Sees Me" — because even when no one else sees you, God does.

Our mission is to ensure every teenager knows what they want to do with their life; that children are mentally fit to be in school; and that every vulnerable child who deserves an education gets one.

A Christian who loves God deeply — everything I do flows from that love.
Born a stammerer. God is still using my voice to give others a voice.
